VACOped Diabetic Achilles Orthosis Boot (formerly VACOcast Diabetic Pro-Achilles)
For patients with diabetic foot problems, the VACOped Diabetic Achilles Orthosis Boot has an adjustable articulating ankle feature for dynamic setting, such as: plantar flexion and controlled Range of Motion (ROM). This enables and facilitates a more active recovery than other orthoses.

Q: What if I'm not weight bearing?
A: If your doctor hasn't recommended weight bearing on your injured leg simply wiggle your toes around and flex your foot. This should allow the microbeads to get into any potential "hot spots." Once you have done this, then proceed to use the included vacuum Bulb Pump to remove air from the insert, until the pump no longer expands.
Q: The VACOcast/VACOped doesn't feel like other boots, why is that?
A: We are glad to hear that! Our patented vacuum technology means no inward pressure on your injury!. VACOcast/VACOped creates a perfect mold of your limb like a plaster cast without all of the mess (and if you don't get it right the first time you aren't stuck with an ill-fitting cast for weeks to come). VACOcast/VACOped will not feel the same as a pneumatic or foam based boot which rely on putting pressure on your injury to create stability. You have the ability to move and shape the beads for maximum comfort. Get the right fit for you.
Q: What is the difference between the VACOcast Fracture Orthosis and the VACOped-Achilles Orthosis (formerly VACOcast Fit vs. VACOcast Pro/Achilles)?
A: The VACOcast Fracture Orthosis is a fixed position boot. The VACOped-Achilles Orthosis has a hinge-like feature enabling it to be adjusted for flexion and enable controlled Range of Motion (ROM) for Achilles injuries and is the best Orthosis boot on the market.
VACOcast Fracture and VACOped-Achilles are TOTAL CAST REPLACEMENTS. This means that they both can be used immediately post-surgery in place of plaster casts!
You have the right to request to use your VACOcast Fracture or VACOped-Achilles Orthoses in lieu of a plaster cast.
Request VACOcast Fracture or VACOped-Achilles Orthosis before accepting any other "walking" boot from your physician and before surgery or casting. We are more than happy to speak with or provide any medical studies and/or information to your providers. Please contact us at email@example.com or at 978-447-1965.
Q: Does my insurance cover VACOcast Fracture or VACOped-Achilles Orthoses? A: Yes! Most Insurance companies DO pay for VACOcast Fracture and/or VACOped-Achilles Orthoses. Generally, the insurance billing code used is: HCPCS L4360. There are other codes available. Reimbursement rates vary depending on your coverage and carrier. If you pay out-of-pocket you may still be eligible for some kind of reimbursement from your insurance company. (Please contact your insurance company and your physician's billing manager directly BEFORE ordering on our website.)
